Written language is a unique skill we humans have adapted as a means of communication. With the English language representing a mosaic of languages all forced to use the Roman alphabet, it is no wonder that the rules of reading and writing can be so challenging. The Riggs Institute (http://www.riggsinst.org/) has done a phenomenal job with the tools they have developed to help decipher the rules of English. These cards can be introduced to children when they first begin interacting with their environment.
